The family of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, on Monday, withdrew its suit against Ojukwu’s widow, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, before a Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere over a property.
The family’s firm, Ojukwu Transport Limited, represented by one of its directors, Dr Ike Ojukwu, had filed a N140 million suit before Justice Adedayo Oyebanji demanding compensation of N100million and payment of N40 million being the expected rentable value per year of the said premises from September 27, 2012 until the defendant gives up possession of the property.At the resumed hearing of the matter on Monday however, the company filed a notice of discontinuance of the suit dated February 5, 2013 through its counsel, Ike Ubahakwa.
When the matter was called, counsel for Bianca, Nick Omeya, had no objection to the application.-Tribune
