Sylvester Stallone is continuing with the pattern he started with in the original Expendables by getting some original action stars signed on for his movie.
According to the info I came across, the producers of “Expendables 3″ are in currently trying to seal the deal which would see Nicolas Cage, Wesley Snipes and Milla Jovovich join Jackie Chan in getting on-board for the upcoming the movie.
Prior to this announcement, it had been revealed that Jackie Chan would be joining the movie and then some rumors had gone round that Harrison Ford and/or Clint Eastwood might get involved but now that doesn’t look likely any more.
While Nicholas Cage isn’t exactly one of the big acts in Hollywood these days, he has appeared in a number of action movies which would make him a good act for Expendables 3.
Jackie Chan is no Donnie Yen (Ip Man) to be honest and I would rather have Donnie in the movie. However with Donnie refusing to partake in the movie Jackie Chan’s inclusion could work if given the right elements.
Wesley Snipes is one of those guys who you can count on for a good action movie and seeing as he has settled his legal matters, It’s a good thing he’s involved in a movie like this.
Milla’s addition is a bit unexpected as I would have picked Gina Carano (Haywire, Fast & Furious 6) over her. However Milla proved over and over that she has what it takes to be an action star with her Resident Evil franchise.
More casting news could still be announced in the next few weeks before production of the movie starts this August.
