EKO Music Festival To Hold In April .


The maiden edition of the EKO Music Festival, EKO MF has been scheduled to hold from April 26 to 28.

The approval letter from the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism and Inter-Governmental Relations, duly signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Morounranti Aleniosu said: “In line with the ministry’s set vision of making Lagos State the preferred tourist destination in Nigeria, and indeed Africa, we are pleased to be associated with your vision and drive in showcasing the musical excellence and peculiarity of the Nigerian people. Kindly accept our congratulations on behalf of Lagos State Government.”

After several years of planning, series of meetings with event stakeholders and the EKO MF crew, the CEO In-House Entertainment, organisers of Eko MF, Ayo George has expressed his gratitude to the people who helped to ensure that the festival received government support.

“No single person can pull such a huge event without the support of individuals and government. We have found that the favour of Governor Fashola, Seye Kehinde of City People, TeeMac Iseli, Barrister Gbenga M. Aduloju and many others.

We are especially thankful for the efforts put into this project by the publisher of City People. Right from the start of the marketing of EKO MF, he has always been there for us.

“With more financial support, we shall lock Lagos down for the three days. Of course, it is the maiden edition, we shall do our best to showcase the best of Nigeria’s music in Lagos.

We may not be able to accommodate all musicians at this time, but we shall try to put up good shows for the days EKO MF holds and for the fans,” he said.

Only live performances will be featured in the musical and cultural celebration as the
festival’s purpose is to uplift the Nigerian music industry. The festival will be streamed live on the internet and also syndicated to media agencies abroad and would present a platform for various cultural troupes to present their rich heritage to the world.
